In a video circulating on social media, the suspect, dressed in green shorts, is surrounded by authorities as he hides in the attic of a home. The offender ran down the stairs and was quickly rescued by authorities from angry residents.

“Yes, it is true that we arrested the suspect at 3 o’clock,” Ahmad Faizol Amir, Padang Pariaman police chief, told reporters at the Padang Pariaman police station on Thursday.

According to the police chief, the suspect is currently at the Padang Pariman police station for further processing. Ahmed Faizol said: “We are currently conducting further investigations on the suspect.”

The head of the criminal investigation department of Pariman police, Inspector AA Regi, said that as a result of the investigation of various evidence obtained, as well as witness statements, the police came to the conclusion that the alleged criminal with the initials of ISIS was elevated to the category of suspect.

“We conducted an intensive investigation and based on field evidence, we were able to identify the suspect with the initials of IS as a suspect,” Inspector Reggi said in a publication by the Kayu Thanam Special Task Force on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Police also managed to find items believed to belong to the Niyo killer at the criminal’s hideout, which is located in a park away from residential areas.
