PKS spokesman reveals the reasons why Prabowo is cancelling his participation in Rapimna

Jakarta, VIVA – Justice for Prosperity Party spokesman Ahmed Mabruri said that presidential candidate-elect Prabowo Subianto did not attend the PKS national leadership meeting because he had public duties.

“This morning we received the news that Prabowo could not participate because he had government duties and a trip to the Philippines,” Mabruri said at the PKS Central Leadership Council Office in Jakarta, Thursday, September 19, 2024.

However, he said the PKS’s national Rapimnas is still going ahead because his party came late on the agenda.

Meanwhile, he explained that from 20 to 22 September 2024, his party will hold a PKS national working meeting at Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta, to decide how the PKS will respond to the 2024 elections and the organizational plan.

He said Prabowo was not invited by the PKS to participate in the agenda of the national working session. “There is no national working meeting scheduled. He was appointed for this national meeting and could not attend,” he said.

Prabowo also cancelled his live meeting with the masses of workers at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday at an event marking the third anniversary of the rise of the Workers’ Party.

Labour Party Chairman Said Iqbal went on to apologise to Prabovo for cancelling his plans to take part in the national address to workers.

“He apologized, listen first brothers, because there is a public duty. A public duty that cannot be abandoned,” said Said Iqbal, who was greeted with loud cheers by the Labour Party cadres. (ant)
