Orifin stressed that the actions of these potential candidates are clearly prohibited, as they have not yet entered the campaign phase, which will only begin on September 25.

Furthermore, they even used government facilities to carry out this covert campaign.

Based on these findings, Arifin, together with the five democracy saviors and election monitors who are officially registered as election organizers, called on South Kalimantan Bawaslu to fulfill their role and duties as observers to create fair and equitable regional elections.

His party then also asked Bawaslu to investigate whether the activities found were illegal or not so that immediate action could be taken.

“We want to follow up with the regional election organizers, including the legal department, who agreed to the agenda for this campaign to become a closed campaign,” he said.

It is known that this year, two pairs of KPU-registered candidates, Raudatul Channa and Ahmad Rozanie Khimovon and Muhydin and Hasnuriadi, participated in the election for the governor of South Kalimantan.

Raudatul Janna is the wife of the current Governor of South Kalimantan, Sahbirin Noor, while Muhiddin is the Deputy Governor of South Kalimantan. (ant)
