Three children found dead in a locked room in East Jakarta fire


Jakarta, VIVA – The three children who died in a house fire in Sipinang Baru, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, were brothers and sisters.

Three children were in the room at the time of the fire. Meanwhile, their mother was not at home. The door to the three small children’s room was closed.

The door was deliberately closed because the victim’s mother was afraid that her son would fall from the second floor of the house. She also said that only the fan was active at the time.

“The witness said that when she left her children in the room, the room was locked so that her children would not leave the room because she was afraid that her children would fall from the second floor because the house was empty,” he said.

It was previously reported that three people died in a house fire on Jalan Sipinang Baru, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on the morning of Friday, September 20, 2024. The three deceased victims were still children.

“The deceased victims are K (4), R (3.5) and A (1.5),” said Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service Chief Satriadi Gunawan on Friday, September 20, 2024.

The fire occurred at approximately 09:43 WIB. A total of 10 fire engines were deployed. 50 employees were then mobilized. The fire was extinguished at 11:52 WIB.
