Long live Papua – Ahead of the upcoming simultaneous regional chief elections (Pilkada) in 2024, the ranks of the Indonesian Navy in the eastern region of Indonesia, the Fleet Command III (Koarmada III) are training soldiers.

The training of the troops was marked by a graduation ceremony led by Commander of the Armada III, Rear Admiral (Laxda) TNI Hersan at Mako Armada III Camp, Katapop, Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua, on Friday, September 20, 2024.
Rear Admiral Pangkoarmada III TNI Hersan said in his message that the implementation of the Force Operations Call is very important to determine the readiness level of the soldiers, Alutsista and all their support elements so that they can be mobilized at any time and are able to respond to requests and react quickly and promptly.

“For this reason, I hope that the task of securing the elections in 2024 will be as prepared as possible,” said the commander of the 3rd Admiral Kherson.
In front of hundreds of soldiers, Commander III stressed that Coarmada III soldiers must be guided by the rules of war issued by the TNI Operations Division on November 29, 2023, which served as a guide to ensure the 2024 presidential and vice presidential elections (Pilpres).

“Be mentally and physically prepared to perform security tasks in a professional and proportionate manner in accordance with procedures, avoiding emotional and arrogant attitudes and behaviors,” he said.
Pangkormada III also reminded all Indonesian Navy personnel in the Koarmada III area to coordinate with all stakeholders to maintain and create security during the upcoming 2024 elections.
“The synergy between TNI, Polri and Forkopimda is the main basis for maintaining favourable conditions in our region. Harmonious cooperation between these institutions is the key to success in providing a favourable and safe environment for the entire community, especially in the regions of Sorong and South-West Papua,” said TNI Rear Admiral Hersan.

The commander also stressed that every soldier of Koarmada III fully understands the meaning of neutrality and will use it well in the 2024 regional elections.
“The neutral attitude of the TNI is very important to maintain the integrity and honorable reputation of the TNI AL in society,” he stressed.
At the end of his message, Pangkoarda III gave five instructions that should be used as a basis for serving in the era of security of the election in 2024, namely, serving soldiers always pray and rely on Almighty God, each soldier understands the rules and regulations, each other’s duties and responsibilities to all parties whether directly involved or not, following the principle of zero accidents prioritizing the safety of personnel and materials, prioritizing reliable action by following the Sapta Marga and the Soldier’s Oath.
“And the main thing I have to remind you is that when you are in the field, every action you take must be based on the instructions of the superior commander,” Pangcoarmada III said.
