On Friday, the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, visited the grave of Imam Al Bukhari in Hartang village, Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Megawati arrived at around 14:30 local time wearing a long red dress wrapped in a white scarf. The daughter of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. Sukarno was welcomed by the Vice Governor of Samarkand Rustam Qabilov and the director of the Imam Bukhari complex Maksud Haji.
Megawati was joined by Minister for Women Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga and a professor from the Faculty of International Relations at St Petersburg University at the statement, which was received in Jakarta on Friday afternoon. After the prayer, Megawati and her entourage met with the main management of the complex. The daughter of Indonesian propagandist Soekarno handed over two packages containing batik fabrics.

The complex with an area of 48 thousand square meters will be completely rebuilt. When completed, the complex will have a beautiful mosque that can accommodate 9,000 people when they pray together.
