Bunex 2024 successfully signs a Memorandum of Understanding worth IDR 3.1 trillion


Tangerang, LONG LIVE – Plantation Expo (Bunex) 2024 managed to register an impressive value of cooperation agreements through activities business compatibility or investment forums.

The total cooperation deal at the event reached IDR 3.1 trillion, which shows the great potential of Indonesia’s plantation industry to attract the attention of domestic and foreign business entities.

The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), through the Directorate General of Plantations, with the support of the Palm Oil Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), will organize an investment forum that will bring together business players, exporters and investors with producers of premium plantation products such as areca nut, palm sugar, coffee and vanilla.

Acting Director General of Plantations, Heru Tri Vidarto, praised the acquisition of the value of the cooperation agreement, which tripled the value of the cooperation agreement obtained in Bunex 2 last year.

“We are also proud to achieve the value of this cooperation agreement, we hope that it will provide broader market access for the plantation products, it also indicates that the strengthening of the plantation trade partnership continues to this day, and the Director General of the plantations encouraged and facilitated the development of plantation trade agreements and partnerships in the future, both domestically and abroad,” Heru said shortly after witnessing the signing of the cooperation agreement.

Heru also revealed that the global recession may lead to a decline in the price of agricultural products due to the decline in global demand due to the recession. This actually puts pressure on Indonesia’s exports and trade balance.

“We need to anticipate these problems in the future in developing the export of plantation products. We must also remember that in the last one or two years Indonesia has made windfall profits thanks to the price of premium products such as cocoa, coffee and palm oil; the impact of this situation at the level of farmers who currently do not have competitive prices must also be looked at,” said Heru.

For information, Bunex is the third in 2024 for PT nut products. Best Star Indonesia won the largest market deal worth Rp 2.9 trillion with buyers from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and Iran.

In addition, palm sugar products through PT. The Javanese sugar legend managed to sign a market contract worth 126.4 billion rupiah.

Then, coffee products through PT. Coffee with Character, PT. Jema Kopi Nusantara, PT. Botanical Seeds Indonesia, Poktan Vanoja, PT. Global Nusantara Makmur, Rayanas Coffee, Alfanoos International, Kaffa Australia and PT. JPLM has managed to sign a collaboration agreement worth a total of Rp 26.68 billion.

Finally, for vanilla products through PT. Cahaya Desa Export signed a cooperation agreement with Shoonsen Co. Ltd at a cost of Rp. 1 billion.

Other trade that can be considered as the value of cooperation until September 2024 are palm oil, rubber, tea, coffee, tobacco, vanilla and coconut sugar, which will reach Rp 70.7 trillion.

By achieving this cooperation agreement worth billions of rupiah, Bunex 2024 is a strategic platform to unite plantation industry players and increase the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the international market.
