This small mistake caused Jorge Martin to lose the sprint race to Bagnaia


Jakarta, VIVA – Jorge Martín had to settle for a podium in the 2024 MotoGP sprint session in Emilia Romagna, the Pramac rider losing out to Francesco Bagnaia due to a small mistake he made.

In the race at the Misano Circuit on Saturday 21 September 2024, Martin started from second position. However, he managed to get into the lead and continued under pressure from Bagnaia, who was behind him.

Unfortunately, the Spanish driver made mistakes in the remaining six laps. At Turn 13, Martin went off track and received a track limit warning from the stewards.

As a result, Bagnaiya immediately outperformed the competition and eventually won. Martin admitted that he made a small mistake at that time until Bagnaia finally became the champion.

“I made a small mistake that cost me because I lost a bit of concentration. I received the road limit warning in a bad place,” said Martin, as reported by VIVA Otomotif Motorsport, Sunday, September 22, 2024.

“I started to see the board in a bad place and I was two meters from my racing line and then I left Pecco.”

“Up until that point I felt I was in a very good position. Although he was very close, I was in control and had a very good pace,” he concluded.

Despite losing to Bagnaia, Martin is now top of the standings with 321 points. He is four points ahead of Bagnaiya who is in second place.
