Urban music singer Ovi arrested in Miami

Ovidio Crespo-Retureta, the 28-year-old Cuban singer better known as Ovi, was arrested in Miami on Tuesday for allegedly pointing a firearm at a driver.

The events were captured on video by the driver, who identified himself as Gregorio Benignini, who took to social media to report what happened.

The victim honked his horn and the driver of the McLaren, who was later identified as the artist, displayed a firearm. Benignini drove away, fearing for his life. Both vehicles changed lanes toward the highway exit, at which point the McLaren driver pointed the gun at Benignini, who began recording with his phone.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) released the moment of the rapper’s arrest, in which two officers had to forcibly remove him from the car while a third pointed his gun at him.

“Officers have arrested Ovidio Crespo-Retureta after he was involved in a traffic confrontation and pointed a firearm at another driver,” they described when sharing the record.

According to the media, UnivisionOvi appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon and was given bail of $8,000, but he will not be able to leave because he has an immigration hold.
