The music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has revealed the first prison meal he ate in jail last Tuesday, September 17, according to The New York Post.

According to the Post, Combs “has been held in pretrial detention at Brooklyn’s MDC since his arraignment on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at which a judge denied him bail. The Post obtained the jail’s menu. According to the Post, Combs was given the option of dining on Swedish meatballs or a black bean burger if he wanted to avoid meat.

The side dishes offered to her “included egg noodles, green beans, a green salad with dressing and a 16-ounce drink,” the Post reported. TMZ reported that the Brooklyn facility is “notorious for its brutal, sometimes fatal conditions.”

According to The New York Times, Combs was arrested on Sept. 16. The U.S. government filed a 14-page indictment on Sept. 17, charging him with three counts: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by fraud, force or coercion, and transportation for prostitution.

According to the indictment, Combs is accused of organizing what he called “Freak Offs,” in which women were forced to have sex with male sex workers. According to the indictment, “Freak Offs were elaborate and produced sexual shows that Combs organized, directed, during which he masturbated and often electronically recorded.”

The indictment says Combs “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct.” Combs has denied the allegations through his lawyers, The Times reported.

On September 18, a judge denied Combs’ request to remain detained at home before trial, according to The Associated Press. His lawyers are also seeking to have him transferred from the Brooklyn facility to a jail in New Jersey, the AP reported.

According to AP, Combs’ lawyers listed “horrific conditions, rampant violence and multiple deaths” at the Brooklyn jail.

The jail has been hit with allegations of “rampant violence, appalling conditions, severe staffing shortages and widespread smuggling of drugs and other contraband, some of it facilitated by employees,” with some judges not sending defendants there, AP reported.

According to AP, a man named Uriel Whyte was stabbed to death at the jail in June, and another man, Edwin Cordero, died from his injuries after a “scuffle.” Additionally, four people have committed suicide in the past three years at the facility, AP reported.

Six members of the prison staff have been charged with crimes in recent years, the news agency reported.
