79th anniversary of TNI, 181 aircraft will perform air shows in the sky of Jakarta


Jakarta, VIVA – On October 5, 2024, the Indonesian National Army (TNI) will celebrate 79 years of serving and protecting the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

For the 79th anniversary of the TNI this year, TNI Commander General Agus Subianto has prepared a series of events for the general public.

One of the events currently being prepared is an air parade or air show where 181 three-dimensional TNI aircraft will participate in the culminating event of the TNI anniversary celebration to be held at Monas Silang Square in Central Jakarta on October 5, 2024.

Chief of Staff of the Air Force (KSAU), TNI Marshal M. Tony Harjono said that the TNI AU received a special order from the TNI Commander to prepare aircraft and thousands of TNI AU soldiers to liven up the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the TNI centered on Silang Monastery Square, later in Central Jakarta.

“For the air show, we have mobilized all available aircraft of the Air Force, which, excluding reserve aircraft, can fly a total of 148 aircraft,” said KSAU TNI Marshal M. Tony Harjono during a meeting with the media at the Kopasgat Command Headquarters Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta, Friday, September 20, 2024.

In addition to the TNI AU aircraft, Kasau continued, there will be additional aircraft from the TNI Navy and TNI Air Force joining together to perform an air parade in the skies of Jakarta.

“15 Navy aircraft and 18 Army aircraft. In total, 181 aircraft will perform air shows,” he said.

“In addition to other shows, drone shows will also be held,” he added.

As for the number of TNI AU personnel deployed, the Air Force No. 1 said his party will deploy 15,000 soldiers and various other defence equipment, who will be at the troop parade on the march as well as the air parade at the climax of the TNI’s 79th anniversary later.

“Of all the personnel to be deployed, 15,000 are from the Air Force itself, in addition to other units from the Navy or Army,” said TNI Marshal Tony Harjono.

“Therefore, the parade of ground marches, the march of troops and the march of military equipment and weapons that we have. Everything will be there,” he added.

For your information, the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the TNI will not only be held on 5 October 2024. The TNI is also hosting an exhibition of hundreds of defence equipment ranging from combat vehicles (Ranpur), tactical vehicles (Rantis), amphibious tanks and various missiles belonging to the TNI AD, TNI AL and TNI AU which can be viewed publicly by the general public from 21 to 22 September 2024 at Monas Silang Square, Central Jakarta.
