General Sulteng’s lucky hand won 35 medals at PON 2024

Banda Aceh, LONG LIVE – Central Sulawesi Governor Rusdi Mastura always thinks beyond the reach of the people, such as appointing Brigadier General Dodi Trivinarto as the task force commander of the PON 2024 regional training center, which is what many did not expect.

This is apparently due to Governor Rousdi’s firm belief in the old French proverb: L’Histoire se Répète, history repeats itself.

The decision of the “central father of Sulawesi Sports” was met with ridicule and doubts at first, but he did not give up.

Rusdi Mastura said that in 1961, when Central Sulawesi was still attached to its parent province, Central and North Sulawesi (Suluteng), this regional contingent was preparing for PON V Bandung.

At the time, he said, in charge of these preparations was a military officer named Captain Narang, who was considered disciplined and firm.

The result was not in vain, as for the first time Central Sulawesi managed to win the silver medal in the 10,000-meter marathon against Poso runner Ari Samana.

It was from this romance that he entrusted General Dodi to instill the fighting spirit of “tadulako” to all the golden athletes of Central Sulawesi for 72 days at the headquarters of the 711/Raksatama Infantry Battalion.

In his statement on Friday, September 20, 2024, Governor Rusdi said, “I am optimistic that the athletes’ discipline, toughness and concentration methods will bear sweet fruits by winning medal after medal at the Aceh-North Sumatra PON XXI in 2024.”

He achieved good results: Central Sulawesi managed to win 35 medals in various sports. The achievement of 8 golds, 7 silvers and 20 bronzes is proof that the combat general, TNI Brigadier General Dodi Trivinarto, has broken the medal record of Central Sulawesi from the previous PON and created a “golden black”.

“This is a victory for the people of Central Sulawesi. The athletes competed like passionate and tireless fighters and were constantly blessed by the prayers of the entire people of Central Sulawesi. This is the result they can offer. This is a new history that must be painted black and gold,” said Brigadier General Dodi Trivinarto.

General Dodi also expressed his gratitude to all the officials, colleagues and supporters and other government officials who made this brilliant achievement possible.
