Sirebon, LONG LIVE – Cirebon Regency Nahdlatul Ulama (UNCP) branch categorically rejects the plan of the Extraordinary NU Congress (MLB) proposed by a group of people on behalf of the Salvation Presidium of the NU Organization.

As a response, Cirebon Regency PCNU held a hearing with the Cirebon Police to express its official position on the rejection.
In recent weeks, the community and NU administrators in Sirebon Regency were surprised by the national integration activities in one of the local hotels. This activity was initiated by a group supported by several branch managers, special branch managers and regional administrators of NU throughout Indonesia.

One of the initiators claimed that the pre-conference and MLB agenda would be held in Cirebon Regency, which caused unrest among NU administrators and residents.

In response to this situation, the Cirebon Regency UNCP held a meeting with the leaders of Islamic boarding schools and discussed the internal dynamics of the organization. “This refusal is not without reason. There is a potential for conflict among residents and concerns about the emergence of lawless acts if the imposition of MLB continues,” said Cirebon UNCP Chairman Aziz Hakim Syarozie on Friday (20/09/2024).
PCNU also prioritizes a proactive approach to maintaining public safety, especially NU residents. They are trying to prevent harm due to the MLB agenda that this small group is pushing.
As a specific step, the UNCP initiated a hearing with the Cirebon Police on Thursday (19/09/2024) to express its concerns about the negative impact of the MLB agenda. The UNCP hopes that the security forces can avoid potential conflicts through dialogue and mediation.
“We want to maintain harmony within NU and avoid provocateurs who harm the unity of the people. We firmly reject newspapers that are not in line with morality,” Kiai Aziz concluded. (Azizi Erfan/Cirebon)
