Jakarta, VIVA – A fire followed by an explosion occurred in one of the rooms on the second floor of the Hizbi Sitarai Hiloli Ahmar (PBB) office. This event occurred on Friday, September 20, 2024.

UN spokesman Randy Bagasudha said the incident began when a fire broke out in one of the cupboards in a room. The fire was detected on CCTV at around 17.28 WIB.

“At 17:30 hours, the explosion occurred like the sound of a suitcase falling, and thanks to the vigilance of the officers on duty at the UN Office of the Public Prosecutor, the fire was finally extinguished,” it said in a statement on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Randy confirmed that no one was injured or killed in the incident.

“There were no casualties or injuries in this incident,” he said.

Randy further said that his party has coordinated with the police, Team Inafis and Gegana Brimob to conduct a forensic examination at the site. As a result, no explosives or terrorist elements that led to the incident were found.

“The team concluded that there was no element of explosives or terror. But this incident was more of a technical problem or an element of human negligence that was basically ignored and caused a small spark in the room,” he explained.
