The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the visit of five young UN personalities to Israel does not represent Indonesia’s position

Jakarta – Recently, the public was excited by 5 young people from UN who visited Israel and met with the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog.

In this case, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the visit of 5 Nakhdliyi is not related to the position of the Indonesian government.

“Regarding the visit of several young NU personalities to Israel, it would be best if PBNU media friends would contact them for more information. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not in a position to comment on this trip, which has nothing to do with anything. It is on the way to the official position of the Indonesian government,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Roy Soemirat on Monday, July 15, 2024.

In addition, PBNU also spoke about the five Nahdlis who flew to Tel Aviv. PBNU admitted that it will first give explanations to the five people who met with the Israeli president.

“But what is clear is that it is difficult to accept his departure, because it hurts the feelings of the people of Nahdliyan. NU members should not travel to Israel. This is an act of misunderstanding geopolitics and the feelings of the people of NU,” said the head of the organization’s Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), Savik Ali.

Savich also said that the visit by five UN officials was not on behalf of the organization and that the UNPB remained in its position of condemning Israel’s military aggression.

Savic also explained that PBNU is communicating with Palestine to discuss the current situation.
