The story of Arin, a taekwondo athlete who fought to get into the Police Academy since he was little.


Semarang – Aura Marsya Arindi (19), a cadet at the Police Academy (Akpol) in West Mataram, Aura Marsya Arindi (19) dreamed of becoming a police officer since she was a child. She uses her Taekwondo training as her capital to win international events, making her hopes come true.

When she was little, the girl, commonly called Arin, was invited by her father Suhartono Toemiran (57) to watch the Police Academy parade. At that moment, she immediately fell in love and wanted to be a police officer.

“I wanted to be a police officer since I was a child. Once I saw the Police Academy parade, I immediately got interested. My father understood and said that if you want to be like that, practice,” Arin said when after conducting the inventory PSI and PMK met at the Police Academy, Monday, July 15, 2024.

Arin explained that her father was a martial arts athlete and understood what his daughter needed. So Arin started taekwondo. She won several competitions and even had a black belt by the time she was in high school.

“It turns out that I already have a Dan IV. I am a first-year high school student and I am already a black belt,” he said.

She has won dozens of regional and national events. She is also aiming for several international events, including 1st place at the 2015 Bali International Taekwondo Open and 2nd place at the 2017 Malaysia Taekwondo CK Classic International Taekwondo Championships.

“I am actually practicing taekwondo to become a cadet at the Police Academy. This is my first time participating. God willing, I am just one step away from making my dream come true,” he said.

Arin was one of six Qataris sent by the NTB Regional Police and the only candidate for Taruni. The physical examination results are certainly high. Arin admitted that he was better prepared for his academic qualifications.

“I have been training since I was little. God willing, I will be physically safe. I have been preparing myself academically since high school,” Arin said.

He hopes that his dream of becoming a police officer will come true and he can make his parents proud while serving the Indonesian state.

“No one in my family is a police officer, so I also want to make my parents proud,” he said.
