TransJakarta to add 200 electric buses to make Jakarta more environmentally friendly


Jakarta, July 12, 2024 – PT TransJakarta Transportation is committed to providing environmentally friendly public transportation in the capital.

This is evidenced by the goal of adding 200 electric buses by 2024, so that TransJakarta’s total electric bus fleet will reach 300 by the end of the year.

TransJakarta CEO Welfizon Yuza revealed that this addition is a continuation of the successful operation of 100 electric buses that have been running for two years without any major issues.

“The results are very good and there are no technical or operational problems,” he said, as quoted by VIVA Otomotif.

Welfizon further explained that the addition of electric buses is in line with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s regulations, which aim for the entire TransJakarta fleet to use electric buses by 2030.

The process of incorporating 200 electric buses is currently underway and is expected to be completed on time.
