In fact, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, seemed to think that the plan to implement the agreement would not be implemented until October 1, 2024. This is what the government had previously promised.

He only said that the government is currently considering the issue of regulating preferential fuel. However, Bahlil assured that the regulations issued try to reflect aspects of justice.

“We are still discussing preferential fuel so that the regulations issued reflect true fairness,” Bahlil said.

He explained that the aim of justice is to ensure that the fuel subsidies are implemented in accordance with the purpose, through the fuel regulation formula, which is introduced by the government at the level of farmers and fishermen.

“As it stands, it should reach the level of the farmer and the fisherman. So we are now reviewing it, I will let you know when it is finalized,” he said.
