YFN Lucci is alive and well after rumours of his death in prison, his lawyer confirmed to The Times.
The 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rayshawn Lamar Bennett, in January. confessed the sin to gang-related charges after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors nearly three years after being charged with murder, gangs and extortion in Atlanta. He is serving 10 years in prison.
This week, a rumor surfaced on social media about the murder of rapper “Mujassama.” Drew Findling, who represented the rapper in the RICO trial, has since closed the factory. TMZ first reported. The fake death comes two weeks after that of former YFN contributor Lucci Rich Homie Quan, who was 33 years old. Found dead in his home in AtlantaThe Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the cause of the “Lifestyle” rapper’s death.
YFN Lucci was among dozens of alleged Bloods gang members charged May 2021 A few months ago, he was charged with murder after police said he was the driver in a shooting that killed 28-year-old James Adams. Rolling Stone reported.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dropped 12 of the 13 charges against YFN Lucci, and he pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act. In addition to the prison term, he was sentenced to 10 years of probation. But the rapper now faces until January 2025 after the Fulton County District Attorney sent a letter to the state Board of Pardons and Paroles in July supporting his early release from prison.
“The Fulton District Attorney did an extraordinary job,” Findling said. WSB Television in Atlanta. “That letter from the district attorney is a powerful punchline and it’s really at the heart of the letter and the supporting documents and the memo that we shared with the parole board.”
YFN Lucci ended up in prison in February 2022 and three of YSL’s co-defendants were charged with attempted murder. Accusation in May 2022.
After the stabbing, Finling saying that his client did not want any cooperation agreement and refused to testify against Young War in a racketeering trial that will determine whether the late rap star was a key figure in the Young Slime Life, or YSL, criminal street gang. Earlier, the Times newspaper reported that the Atlanta group claims to “belong to the national Bloods gang.”
YSL’s trial began in November and has been repeatedly delayed by a dispute between presiding judges, online leaks about the identities of jurors and the stabbing of co-defendant Shannon Jackson, also known as Shannon Stillwell.
Defense attorneys have repeatedly expressed concerns about the length of the trial and Fulton County prosecutors are still calling more than 100 witnesses. Atlanta News First reported on Wednesday.
