Gonzalez He is the director of the Santiago district and has received endorsements from major unions, including representatives of teachers and construction workers. The California Democratic Party and Gov. Gavin Newsom also endorsed him. That support helped Gonzalez raise nearly 10 times more than his opponent. He also wants to move away from single-family zoning to allow for more equitable access to housing.
